An outbuilding has to endure a lot of wear and tear over the years, especially when it comes to weather. This is why we take great care when building our timber outbuildings to ensure that they not only last, but look great all year round.
This was our goal for a project we took on for a customer in Kent, who wanted their double garage to have a natural slate roof that would last the life of the building and deal wit everything our adverse weather conditions could throw at it.
To further refine the look of the building, we installed doors on the side elevation rather than under the gabled roof and used barn hips where the ends of the roof are cut back in a traditional style. On this occasion the barn hips also helped reduce the impact of the building close to the boundary with their next door neighbour.
The results
The client was very happy with the work Passmores carried out. Their new building is proving resilient against the British weather and should stand strong for decades to come.
